chapter 6

We wanted a table right on the side of the beach and we got it. We didn't wait for long but the smell of the hot bread and mashewe (BBQ) was killing us. The wind was playing going back and forth, it was chilly not hot nor cold it was just beautiful. The songs that were played were very traditional that it took us back 10 years. Fairouz the queen of Lebanese music as usual boosts our moods and relaxation.

we were very hungry our belly's where making weird noises. Our order was huge compared to our count but all we craved we ordered.
Our enormous order:
3 plates of mix bbq, 2 fatoush and 2 taboule (lebanese salads) , baba ghanouj (egg plants and herbs made into a dip mixed with olive oil.), 3 kinds of kebbeh( bulghur shell shaped like an American football, stuffed with a filling of spiced, minced lamb and fried until brown) , arayes lahme (spice mincemeat-filled oven-baked flatbread sandwiches.), 3 fries, 1 vegetable sambousa and 1 cheese, 2 warak enab (vine leaves).

1= 1 plate , these are both appetizers and main dishes.

The food came in order, we enjoyed our time to the max and of course silenced our hunger.
I love all kinds of our food, I can't mention a specific one! And this is one of our culture's unique qualities.
Sarah :" I can barley breathee uhhhhhh"
Ludy: " Well of course you can't you haven't closed your mouth from the time they put the water on the table."
Sarah : I was hungry wallah!"
we all laughed again at her face expressions, she seriously ate a lot but I just love her attitude, she does what pleases her and doesn't think about others. I'm the same, but when you have crazy cousins like mine you will try to stop this habit...

I was eating very slowly, just to enjoy the taste of everything and after I finished eating some tabouleh, ludy said she wanted to take pictures before we start the main dish.
Serryl look at me, said ludy
I smiled and all of my teeth  were showing, It wasn't a fake smile but ALL OF  THEM suddenly started laughing. I was so angry because no one wanted to tell me what was so funny.
after we finished they showed me the pictures.......
HEYYYY  ITS NOT FUNNY OK!!! i shouted.
there was parsley on my front teeth and My pictures were hilarious!! If a stranger saw them he would go like "Hey everybody ! ugly Betty is in the place"
She refused to delete them, I was sooo mad because her camera was the samsung one so she can set a password for it.
Ludy: I'm gonna post it on instagram k? If you don't mind"
They all winked to each other and laughed.
Sereen: I swear if you do am gonna doo something wayyyy farther than your expectations!! I SWEAR!
SARA: OK OK  SHE WILL DELETE THEM BUT YOU'LL INVITE US FOR DESSERT
sereen: Fine mrs. impress my belly 24/7.
All of us laughed and again, pissed her off but at least they deleted them LOL
-----
We drank some coffee and decided to go home.
Teta (grandma) was waiting for us , I Love her so much she's the world itself to me<3
Without her our summer in Lebanon wouldn't be as fun as it usually is.
" Ta ta ta ta tirash rash ti rash rash, Ti rash rash Ti rash rash Aywaaaa..." we were shouting...
The Volume was veryyyy loud!! and the windows where open, The  summer breeze conquered my heart and complete soul.
We played random popular lebanese songs and one of them is Dakka almani, the one we were singing aloud for the whole time due to its length which is about 11 minutes long.
Us lebanese people have the same spirit, we love having fun and enjoying every second in every minute!!
When we stop at the red traffic light, the music gets louder, not because we raise the volume, but because the same song was played in all of the surrounding cars. Very loud we can throw a party in the middly of the road.
I saw the sign saying which told us that you're home!!
Welcome to Bekaa!! , Bienvenue à Bekaa , and اهلا بكم بلابقاع الجنوبي , I looked at the sign admiring it, and the smile reached my ears from joy.
